- Exhibitor listings for the Show Directory must be approved by November 30, 2010.

FYI…
- Available booth space is scarce! If you are on the long waiting list to change location, chances are you will not be able to relocate.

- You should have separate usernames and passwords for the Exhibitor Dashboard and Experient's lead management system. Both passwords were sent to the primary contact used when booking space for the show.
- BMG is exhibiting for the fourth time. As always, we are set up to help our clients have a great show. Come see us at Booth #4855 in Central Hall.

iPad: The Reality Behind The Hype
You’ve probably heard the buzz by now. The new Apple iPad is being called the can’t miss sales tool for CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 by trade show veterans. But just how applicable is it in our industry? Our SMART (Social Media And Related Technologies) Group did the research and has purchased an iPad to determine the benefits and potential disadvantages of using one at your next trade show or as a major sales tool.
Trade Show Benefits
- Portable All-In-One Source – Display video demonstrations of products, literature, photos and other sales-related information wherever you go.
- In-Booth Presentations – Share an interactive presentation with visitors to your booth without the need for other costly equipment.
- Share Your Website – Navigate attendees through your website right from your iPad.
- Touch Screen Convenience – Eliminate the need for a mouse and keyboard with the largest portable touch screen available today.
The iPad has the potential to be an extremely successful sales tool at trade shows and on the road, but be cautious before buying into the hype.
WARNING:
- It only weighs 1.6 pounds. On-line user research indicates that if you drop it, the chances of damage are high.
- Its screen is 9.6 inches tall and 7.5 inches
wide. This would prevent you from showing more than two people a presentation at one time.
- You must have an internet connection to show your website. Internet connectivity may not be reliable at a show or on the job site.
- Want to take your iPad outside? Your LED screen may be hard to see in the sunlight.
- It does not support Flash, so you will not be able to access some content on many websites.
- It does not have a CD or DVD drive. You can't directly upload a CD full of pictures or information or show a DVD.
- iPads are a hot commodity; there is a strong potential for theft if left unattended.
- It has a 10-hour battery life. If you use it all day on the trade show floor, you will have to recharge it for use with potential customers in the evening.

Our research is specifically related to the construction industry and includes how you can benefit from each option, their advantages and disadvantages and ways to incorporate them into your marketing plan.

The Power Of A Landing Page
Want to announce a new product, special program, customer discount or company viewpoint? A landing page can be your promotional vehicle, either as part of your website or a separate, easy-to-remember domain name. Space is limited on a company website and there often isn't room to elaborate. With a landing page, you can take a more personal approach with your customers and expand on a product or topic.
Landing Pages Allow You To…
- Direct customers straight to your unique message
- Include more sales-related information, photos and success stories on a specific topic
- Guide its design even if you do not have control over your company website
- Link back to your main website
You Must Promote It!
To make your landing page successful, it must be promoted. Use E-Blasts, advertisements, announcements and your company website.
